Our farm is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Shenandoah National Park in Afton, Virginia between Charlottesville and Staunton. We have panoramic views of the range from Humpback
Mountain in the Blue Ridge Mountain Range to the Shenandoah National Park Mountains. Our ranch name is derived from a characteristic of Afton Mountain.It is the foggiest location in the state of Virginia.

Just minutes away and you can be in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah National Park and the Appalachian Trail. Central Virginia is now known for its world-class wines. Numerous wineries, microbreweries and a single malt Scotch distillery are in the area. Also, many historical sites such as Thomas Jefferson Estate, Montpellier, Ash Lawn, University of Virginia and Civil War battlegrounds are in the area. Wintergreen Resort, an all-year resort, which includes skiing, golfing, restaurants and beautiful scenery, is less than 30 minutes away.
We have made a major effort to insure that our herd is protected from the local predators (Wild Dogs and Coyotes) and Deer (Meningeal Worm). We have a three-rail horse fence with dog-wire surrounding all of the pastures. Inside that fence is another fence which is a 6' no climb woven wire fence with 3" buried to discourage diggers. We also have an electrified wire around the outer perimeter of the 6' fence. The pastures are subdivided with 5' no climb wire fence. Our goal is to provide the most stress free environment possible for our alpacas (and us).
We will limit our herd size to about a dozen Accoyo Suri Alpacas. With a herd this size it is easy to insure that each alpaca receives proper nutrition and health care. In addition we can insure that each alpaca is trained for easy handling. We also have a second pasture we can use to isolate contagious alpacas or new arrivals
